What about your shack MacReady?

I KNOW I'M HUMAN 2.0 will, I hope, eventually continue as a work in progress. I'm not reposting the same material found at the sister site, The MEANING of MACREADY. MoM features reviews, interviews, Kurt on the character, my thoughts on Kurt as the character etc. This little site is more about the characters themselves and links to discovering more about the people who inspired their creation.

So what is it about MacReady that keeps me coming back? His rugged individuality and humanity. His courage and stubborness. His ingeniuty and calm under fire. And his sombrero.

Seriously, MacReady (on film), is the dream character I will create one of these days. He's flawed, dangerous and probably the strongest male I've ever seen put to celluloid. Strong in quiet ways. And how John guided Kurt in his performance is just amazing. Don't worry guys I won't gush about Kurt's take on MacReady is gobsmackingly gorgeous (even though it's true), to me, character is key. And through MacReady, I've come to understand war and the terrible price it exacts from some who serve. I've found new interests, new histories to discover and a new respect for the armed forces.

That Mac exhibits some of my better and worse character traits doesn't hurt, it's part of what draws him to me. Were it possible to get tattoos, I'd have a MacReady sleeve...it's not so other alternatives are being built/painted for me as I code. I'd say watch this space, but you're better off checking my blog for updates.
